Temple Welcomes Liquid
November 20, 2008
Liquid Interactive's managing director, Doug Mancini, was recently invited to be a guest speaker for a Marketing Management class at Temple University. He gladly accepted and on Thursday, November 18th, Mancini spoke before 250 students on what Liquid Interactive does and how it relates to marketing.
He tied the course material together with Liquid's services by discussing how the company uses the Internet to solidify the brand identity for their various clients. He outlined to the students how Internet marketing is growing at a rapid pace and how the number of Internet users in the country will continue to add to its already astounding total.
The students were fascinated by the process that the agency goes through in order to develop a high-end web site. It is a little-known art that Doug attempted to efficiently portray to the audience. He showed examples of Liquid's work while simultaneously explaning the basic steps that go into creating it. His two presentations of an hour and thirty minutes each led to many remarkable questions and post-presentation approaches from the students as well as multiple follow-up emails.
"During the question and answer session it was clear how engaged the students had been in the presentation," said Temple Marketing Professor Ellen Thomas. "There was something interesting and timely for every student in the class and I would be happy to have Liquid Interactive return."
About Temple University
Temple University is one of the largest schools in the nation with over 32,000 combined graduate and undergraduates making up the student body. Over the years, The Fox School of Business at Temple has been solidifying itself as one of the more established business programs in the country. Its new, $79 million, state-of-the-art facility set to open in January will help build on the business school's reputation. Knowing this, Doug viewed this as a great opportunity to inform the college students of a unique marketing career that is not commonly focused on in classes.
